The beginning

What would God have me do?  That seems to be a prevalent idea within my mind these days.  I have never been more sure in my life, but it seems so far away.  God have this incredible mission and direction for me and my patience is being tested.  We started working on this ministry extension of my parent church back in October of 07.  As it developed, the path became more clear.  Then the fall came.  The leader of our ministry was removed by God for moral failure, and I felt the ministry needed to continue.  God instilled within my very soul a desire to see this work continued.  I almost said completed, but this work will never be completed.

Simple church is what we are after.  The extra stuff that church throws at you to "do" has to go.  What is the relevance of multiple committees?  What is the relevance of Sunday School?  What is the relevance of having three different services per week that most people in the church don't attend anyway?  We are so worn out from being busy in the church that we are missing the purpose of why God ordained this institution.  We are to go out and share Jesus with people.  We are to accept a person because God loves them.  We are to love people where they are because God loves them.  We are NOT to judge people because we have no right.  This is all good and easy to write, but the action is hard even though the commands of Jesus are clear.

So why not end programs and start loving people?  What's the big deal about getting rid of things that no longer hold relevance in a person's life?  Well, if you read this and i makes you angry, examine why you are getting angry.  Is it the comfort zone that may be disrupted?  Is it the discomfort of violating your traditions? All through the Bible I see times when the nation Israel became complacent and God used men and women of faith and whole pagan nations to change their direction and get them back to being focused on Him.  This is not a threat by any means, but it is an accurate observation.  Why not change our methods to introduce Jesus as He should be introduced?  and before you reply, I never said anything about changing the gospel.  The gospel is the only hope for a fallen world.  But the methods?  think on it.
